According to the requirements of the Madrid Agreement and the Madrid Protocol

The international trademark application shall designate one or more contracting parties to the Madrid Agreement or the Madrid Protocol to which the applicant wishes to extend protection and shall indicate the type of protection sought.

The international trademark application shall contain

(i) a reproduction of the trademark;

(ii) the name and address of the applicant;

(iii) a list of the goods and/or services in respect of which the international registration is requested; and

(iv) the filing or registration date of the trademark in the country of origin.

The international trademark registration shall have the same effect as a trademark registration in each of the contracting parties designated in the international application
